Privacy policy

The short version

We collect as little as possible. There are no accounts for visitors, no advertising trackers are loaded by default, and nothing is sold to anyone.

What we collect

Messages you send us. If you use the contact form we store your name, email, subject, and message so we can reply and act on corrections.

Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, whether you gave consent, and the date.

Outbound link clicks. When you leave ToolBeacon through a tool link, we record the tool, the page you came from, which button you used, the destination, the referring site when your browser sends one, and a timestamp. We do not store your IP address, a persistent identifier, or a fingerprint of your device.

Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs for security and reliability.

What we do not do

• No advertising scripts are loaded unless ads are switched on by the site administrator, in which case a third-party advertising provider will set its own cookies and its own consent step applies.
• No cross-site tracking, session recording, or fingerprinting.
• No selling or renting of personal data.

Cookies

ToolBeacon itself does not set cookies for visitors browsing the directory. If analytics or advertising is enabled by the administrator, those services may set cookies; their use is governed by their own policies and any consent choice you are shown.

How long we keep things

Contact messages are kept while they are useful and then deleted. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe. Click records are kept in aggregate and are not linked to individuals.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete anything we hold about you. Send the request through the contact form and we will act on it.

Children

The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will appear here with a new review date.
